Yes, I did not intend to be away for this long. It was part studies, part internet being off and on reliable for the past couple of weeks and ooh, Halloween planning madness. :D

I noticed that saturating the hell out of things followed by adding faux film grain is the New Black for icon-making.
So I made some that are saturated a weeee bit. And I felt like making humorous ones this time. Isn't it amazing?!

I was inspired to make FF and slashiness icons after a comment thread with laurel_tx last week? so the Franz is sort of her fault.

I have more but they are stragglers that did not really belong in this batch. I will be back sooner this time to post those. I will, really, in between re-reading Goblet of Fire and counting the days until mid-November when the OotP theatrical trailer will be released!!!

Anyone reading my regular journal has been aware of my recent Bleak House re-addiction. I am currently making loads more, actually, with the other characters. ^^;;
In addition to that, I volunteered to make a couple of Earl Cain icons for lorindel13, though I went off and made a couple more.

My icons are always rather....ponderous/sad/meditative/???, except for that one with the flowers. EEEeee. Don't make icons when you are wound up/stressed or #4 in the second set happens.

I am working on the same batch of icons that I started over the weekend-IMnY and HP mainly. My job sort of flattened me.

One evening while I was feeling rather tired, I decided to randomly look for stuff to read about Clémence Poésy (Fleur Delacour in HP & the GoF), and then I made a Friends Only banner out of the blue. :D;;

I am not sure what to make of this small batch out of the blue...but I was sleepy and could not go to bed. x_x
I find them dull-ish. I am working on doing something different/strange for the next batch.

So I watched Imagine Me & You about a zillion times and also received it as a gift for my birthday on Tuesday, and I went totally spare and made many icons. I adore this film. ^^

It's a real hodge podge of styles. I did not stick to one type of theme or method. I just tinkered and fiddled with all sorts. :)

Hmm. I would have liked to have had more pics to make them from. ...then I could have really gone quite insane! I found moooore. teeheehee. I will credit the pic source once I go completely insane and make more icons!!

More Imagine Me & You icons, plus a sprinkling of HP-PoA and GoF, random David Tennant, and football that I did already. Definately want to do book quotes in future posts for JS& Mr. N. Such an awesome book! I have far too many icon ideas at the moment but IMnY et al is first up for early this next week :).

My personal life caught up with me a little. I am back down to one job as of Wednesday haha! Will post the other stuff I mentioned on Tuesday later. Suppose I should broadcast this journal more. o_o

I slapped them together later in a hurry after fiddling with the planet ones so they are a bit rough.

At long last...an actual post. Nothing terribly fancy this time..mostly messing with color layers or just adjusting and slapping silly text on. My new job has been murdering me so I did not have much time for icons and icon-making. The Ood ones were made awhile back on a weird whim XD. I like the Ood and think that they deserve their own plushie.

Yeah, the Ood icons are a little odd. I refused to compromise content for perfect sizing on a couple of them. They are more for fun than for technical merit :P.

I am working on a multi post of Nine, Nine/Rose, Ten, Four, Five, Five/Turlough, Buffy, with perhaps some random Harry Potter thrown in. And then there is our trip to San Francisco that I am making into icons as well. And possibly an Eight post. ^^;;

+ Tutorials & Basic Info: icon_tutorial , How to create, save, and share brushes in Photoshop 7, and/or if you are using Photoshop or PE, you can load textures from image packs by doing the following: (1) Go to the Preset Manager and select Patterns on the drop down menu, (2) choose Default or any presaved pattern set, choose Select>Select All up top, (3) click Delete in window (this will not erase the pattern since it is already saved under Applications/Adobe PS/Presets/Patterns so fear not! (4) Exit the Preset Manager and Open an image that you wish to save as a Pattern, (5) Click Edit>Define Pattern... and give it any name and hit Done. Sadly you must do this with each one by one. Once you've finished, return to the Preset Manager, Select All again and then choose Save Set and name your pattern group. Be sure to save it in the proper place; it should go there automatically. If I figure a way to more easily and quickly save patterns as a set, I'll stick something here. ^^;;

I use the former because it's scripted and who wants to cut and paste cell info over and over and over....Thank you, Yuumei, for the first link! ;)
